Keeping Communities Safe Final Version

The "Keeping Communities Safe" (KCS) document is the blueprint for the future direction of the fire service which will deliver consistent, effective and value for money fire services in Ireland while continuing to reduce the risk from fires in our communities and prioritising the safety of fire personnel in their work. KCS has been developed using a risk management approach, where risks are identified, classified and used to prioritise fire service activity in prevention, protection and response.

Las Fallon Dublin Fire Brigade History

Las Fallon at the time of writing has been a firefighter in Dublin Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service for the last 27 years. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Brigade having been founded in 1862 he has launched his wonderful book "Dublin Fire Brigade and the Irish Revolution"

Over the years Las as an avid fire service historian he has published various articles in magazines such as FireCall and other fire related magazines and online.

For those who had the chance to visit the great Dublin Fire Brigade museum in the O Brien Training institute you may have had the good fortune of meeting him in the museum and hearing him talk about the many exhibits there of which quite a few were on loan from his extensive private collection. Las was the curator there from 2008 to 2011.

Las is also a member of a number of organisations including the Fire Heritage Network, The Fire Service Trust and the Fire Mark Circle.

A 25minute video of Las chatting about Fire Service History can be viewed here.
